Southwind Software Training & Consulting Ltd. is located in Stony Plain, Alberta which is approximately 20 Km. west of Edmonton.  We have been in business for over 20 years and were voted Business of the Year in 2004.

Southwind's motto is "Be Flexible".  This flexibility is evident as we present regularly scheduled classes, as well as customized training for clients who work shift work, out-of-Town, out-of-Province and out-of-Country.  We offer many options (Daytime, Evening and Saturday courses) in order to accommodate their schedules as well as providing custom training at various locations throughout the province.

The company is owned by Gail Sutherley who, along with several contract instructors provide training in a wide variety of courses offered by Southwind.

Gail Sutherley has been instructing computer courses for over 30 years.  Prior to starting the business in 1998 she brought with her 5 years experience training and consulting on contract, three years experience at Muir Lake Community School as a Computer Aide, three years at NAIT Westerra Campus as an Instructor in Electronic Publishing, and four years with Alberta Vocational College at the Westerra Campus, where she coordinated their Academic Upgrading Program and developed and instructed evening computer classes.

Gail started her career with computers after completing the Microcomputer Management Program at Grant McEwan Community College in 1983.

It is very important that our instructors not only know the software but have experience using it on a daily basis and can relate to and anticipate problems that may occur. “As instructors, our greatest challenge is to stay current with all software versions. We have clients who are using the latest versions but many are still using older programs and we are able to help them out as well”, says Gail. Above all else, we make the learning experience FUN. When people laugh they are much more relaxed and the learning then happens naturally.
